The story of the world’s best Provolone begins with a secret. The Secret of one Gennaro Auricchio, who founds his own company in 1877 in San Giuseppe Vesuviano, near Naples. An exclusive and special recipe that gives his Provolone a unique and unmistakable flavor. This Provolone is particularly sharp. It is often regarded as one of the best-tasting provolones in the world. In Italian grocery stores (check out ou dysplay in any of our deli departments), this cheese is often seen dangling by rope from the rafters, which makes it a very well known cheese throughout Italy. Perhaps the most famous Provolone producer.The Auricchio Provolone Piccante here is authentic, imported from Italy, and aged for 12 months. If offers a sharp flavor that zings the tongue. Wonderful in antipasto, with any of our salami, paired with olives and red wine or just on crackers.
