Uncle G’s Apple Crisp

INGREDIENTS:
For the filling:
6-7 Granny Smith or Honey Crisp apples (peeled and sliced)
Juice from one lemon
2 tablespoons of flour
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt

For the crisp:
1 cup flour
¾ cup sugar
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 large egg (beaten well)
1/3 lb. unsalted butter (melted)

For the pan:
1 teaspoon of unsalted butter

DIRECTIONS:
1. Peel and slice apples and then place them in a bowl of water with the juice of one lemon.
2. Mix together the drained apple slices and other filling ingredients and then set it aside.
3. In a separate mixing bowl; mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and one egg. The texture should be dry and crumbly.
4. Butter the bottom and sides of a 9 inch round pie pan.
5. Place the apple filling into the buttered pie pan.
6. Place the crisp mix over the pie filling.
7. Drizzle butter evenly over the crisp mix.
8. Place in a pre-heated oven at 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
